Luca Reuben is a passionate fashion designer and craftsperson with a hands-on approach to all their work. Studies Fashion Design Menswear at Central Saint Martins, with experience in both men's and women's silhouettes. Focused on details, forgotten techniques and keen to improve and learn new skills at every step.

Luca’s practice focuses on reconnecting with family heritage through craft, design and make. His great-grandparents and relatives of Austrian, Polish and Russian descent (Levitt and Zetlin) seeked asylum in East London, working within the rag trade in and around Petticoat Lane, and opened leather/trunk and shoe stores. Unfortunately there is next to no documentation of this. A single drawing serves as a reminder.

Upon visiting Petticoat Lane, Luca became disillusioned by the lack of culture remaining. Where once there were handmade shoes and tailored suits, pickpockets who would steal your petticoats and sell it on the other side of the market, all that remains are the old shop fronts preserved by the government - facing stores selling mass produced shoes and suits.

A strong belief that craft and creativity can go hand in hand allows Luca to picture the lives of his ancestors, connect with them and recontextualise his heritage into fantasy.
